"Hands in Die" refers to production systems where the operator is required to place his hands or fingers in the work area to place or remove material.

Kenco air-clutch equipped presses conform to the requirements of OSHA standard 1910.217 and ANSI standard B11.1-1988. An air activated clutch with a spring return disc brake provide fast and smooth stopping at any point in the press cycle. The controls feature dual microprocessor and redundant logic design. Control logic includes self-checks to detect internal or external faults and safely shuts down the press to ensure operator safety.

Because the operator is within the safeguarded point of operation, great care must be taken by the employer to ensure that all-applicable OSHA / ANSI safety requirements are observed. When properly integrated with OSHA / ANSI safeguarding, Kenco air-clutch equipped presses provide a safe, reliable and efficient production method for these applications.
