Taber Sticker

The Taber® Crockmeter 418 provides a quick and accurate method to determine the amount of color transferred from textile materials to other surfaces by rubbing. Based on the design described in internationally recognized test standards, the Crockmeter was originally designed to simulate the action of a human finger and forearm. The tester uses a standard pressure and rubbing motion to provide reliable and reproducible test results and has been used to test most colored textiles including fabric, carpeting, yarn and leather. Alternatively, the instrument has been employed to perform smudge and smear resistance tests on images produced by a printer or copier, along with rub abrasion, scuff and / or mar tests on flat painted specimens.
