Title

Scope

AS/NZS 1301.431rp

Stiffness of Paper and Paperboard

This standard prescribes a procedure for measuring the flexural rigidity or stiffness of a paper or paperboard (stiffness value in the range of 10 to 9000 mN).

ASTM D3301

Standard Specification for File Folders for Storage of Permanent Records

This specification covers file folders used in the storage of records and documents that are expected to have maximum, or substantial, life expectancy.

ASTM D5342

Standard Test Method for Resistance to Bending of Paper and Paperboard (Taber-Type Tester)

WITHDRAWN - see TAPPI T489

ASTM D5650

Standard Test Method for Resistance to Bending of Paper of Low Bending Stiffness (Taber-Type Tester in 0 - 10 Taber Stiffness Unit Configuration)

WITHDRAWN - see TAPPI T566

BS 3748

Method for Determination of Resistance to Bending of Paper and Board

This International Standard specifies a method, based on the beam principle (see ISO 5628), for determining the resistance to bending of paper and board.

Canadian Pulp & Paper D.28P

Stiffness of Paper and Paperboard (Taber Method)

This test measures the stiffness of paper and paperboard by determining the bending moment in millinewton-centimeters required to deflect the free end of a clamped specimen, 38.1 mm in width, through 15° from the centre-line of the clamp.

ISO 2493

Paper and board - Determination of Resistance to Bending

This International Standard applies to the measurement of the resistance to bending of paper and board, most commonly within the range 20 mN to 10 000 mN, but on some instruments down to about 2 mN.  The method does not apply to corrugated boards but may be applied to the components of such boards.

JIS P 8125

Testing Method for Stiffness of Paperboard by Bending Load

This Standard is specified for the stiffness test method of paper and paperboard using a Taber Stiffness tester based upon ISO 2493 - Paper and Board - Determination to Bending.

JIS P 8223

Pulps - Laboratory Sheets - Determination of Physical Properties

This Standard specifies a method of measuring the tensile strength, stretch at break and tensile energy absorption of paper and board using a test instrument operating at a constant rate of elongation. It also specifies methods for calculating the tensile index, the tensile energy absorption index and the modulus of elasticity.

Tappi T 489

Bending Resistance (Stiffness) of Paper and Paperboard (Taber-type Tester in Basic Configuration)

This method covers a procedure used to measure the resistance to bending of paper and paperboard.

Tappi T 566

Bending Resistance (Stiffness) of Paper (Taber-type Tester in 0 to 10 Taber Stiffness Unit Configuration)

This test method covers a procedure used to measure the resistance to bending of papers which are of low grammage, or high flexibility, or both, and which exhibit bending stiffness in the range from 0 to 10 Taber stiffness units.

UNE 57 075

Paper and cardboard - Determination of Rigidity; Method by Static Flexing

(Translated) This norm intends to indicate the method that is had to use to determine the rigidity of the paper or cardboard by means of the test of static flexion. This norm is applied to papers and cardboards with a rigidity from 20 to 10 000 millinewtons, that it corresponds to papers and cardboards with an included/understood grammage, approximately, between 150 and 1 500 g/m². Some apparatuses are appropriate for the measurement of 2 millinewtons (grammages of 60 g/m², approximately).
